Jo Harten will continue her work with the Vitality Roses after being confirmed as one of two Technical Coaches alongside Tamsin Greenway in Anna Stembridge’s England Netball coaching team through to the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney. A former England great, Harten brings a wealth of elite-level experience to the role, having already supported the Roses coaching set-up since 2023 and most recently worked with the squad during the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign.
Widely regarded as one of the finest shooters in England netball history, Harten earned 117 international caps during an outstanding playing career spanning more than 15 years. Known for her leadership, composure and attacking flair, she represented England at multiple World Cups and Commonwealth Games, becoming a central figure in the Roses’ rise as a force on the global stage.
The pinnacle of Harten’s international career came in 2018 when she helped England secure a historic Commonwealth Games gold medal on Australia’s Gold Coast. The triumph remains one of the greatest achievements in English netball history, while Harten also collected World Cup bronze medals and captained her country during several major tournaments.
Since retiring from international competition, Harten has seamlessly transitioned into coaching, sharing her expertise with both the Roses and Australia’s NSW Swifts, where she currently serves as assistant coach. Her appointment as Technical Coach ensures England’s current generation can continue to benefit from the knowledge, winning mentality and high-performance standards of one of the sport’s most decorated and respected figures.
