Anna Stembridge will continue as England Netball head coach after being formally appointed to lead the Vitality Roses through to the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney. Having stepped up from assistant coach to interim head coach earlier this year, Stembridge has now been entrusted with guiding England through the next international cycle, with former Roses stars Tamsin Greenway and Jo Harten joining her coaching team.
Stembridge is no stranger to the national setup. A former Wales international who earned 45 senior caps, she previously served as England head coach between 2011 and 2015 after earlier working as an assistant coach with the Roses programme. Her first spell in charge produced one of the most significant moments in England Netball history as the team secured a landmark series victory over Australia in 2013, the first time an England side had achieved the feat.
Alongside her international work, Stembridge has built a reputation as one of the most respected coaches in British netball. She enjoyed major success with Team Bath in the Netball Super League and has been heavily involved in developing players and coaches across the high-performance game. Her experience as both an elite player and coach has made her a highly influential figure within the sport for more than two decades.
Since returning to the Roses coaching staff in 2024, Stembridge has been part of a period of notable success for England. She helped the team win the 2025 Netball Nations Cup and played a key role in England’s Taini Jamison Trophy triumph in New Zealand, only the second time the Roses have claimed the series and the first occasion they secured victory on New Zealand soil. With her appointment now confirmed, Stembridge will look to add further chapters to her England legacy as the Roses target success on the road to Sydney 2027.
