The latest blog from Sirens Claire Maxwell.
I can’t believe we are going into Round 8 this weekend. The games are coming thick and fast and there’s a new challenge every week. The league is red hot this year and we are quickly learning that if we take our feet of the gas for 5 mins in a 60 minute game our opponents are ready to pounce and open up a gap on the scoreboard. Stars did exactly that in our last game and punished us any time we made an error. This week we face the two time defending champions and will be looking to stay on task for the full 60 minutes.
Our team motto is that it’s ‘more than just a dress’ and we aim to use Strathclyde Sirens as a platform for change. We are very proud of the successful food collection on Friday at our home game and our continued work with NSPCC. Thank you to our fans for contributing to our supporting our local community. Hand on heart I think our fans are amazing and their enthusiasm for our sport is infectious.
Our next home game will see us host our first ever Strathclyde Sirens game in Edinburgh. The Strathclyde Sirens camps in Edinburgh are always sold out so we can’t wait to share some Sirens love in the East of Scotland. Before all that though we have been putting in the hard yards at training and will be looking to continue to strive to take our game to the next level.
