Wallam pens new deal with Lightning

Sunshine Coast Lightning player #37 Donnell Wallam has officially re-signed until the end of the 2027 season.

Wallam brings a dynamic look into the attacking circle, making her return to Super Netball in 2026.

In the past season alone, she accumulated over 618 goals and 71 rebounds, making her one of the top 4 shooters in Super Netball.

Wallam was rewarded for her stunning return to Super Netball being named in both the Diamonds squad and as a Commonwealth Games training partner.

In her first season at the club, Wallam was awarded the Players’ Player at the 2026 Night with Lightning.

Wallam said that she has loved her time in the Sunshine Coast environment and community.

“This has been the perfect place for me to make my return to Super Netball,” she said.

“I’ve felt so supported as a player from all my teammates, the staff, and the entire Lightning community.

“I am super excited to have re-signed with the club and keen to get back into pre-season for a big 2027.”

Sunshine Coast Lightning head coach Belinda Reynolds said that she is excited to see what Wallam will bring to the court in the new season.

“Nell has been a great addition to our group both on and off court,” she said.

“2026 was a great year for Nell, culminating in a Diamonds selection.

“She has quickly become a favourite with our players and fans and is so reliable for us week in, week out.”

Donnell has committed to the Sunshine Coast Lightning until the end of 2027, adding another name to Lightning’s roster coming into next season.
