Sunshine Coast Lightning player Ash Ervin departs
Defender Ash Ervin and the club have made the decision that she will pursue other opportunities in season 2027.
Sunshine Coast Lightning player #29 began her journey with the Lightning in 2023.
During her time at the Lightning, Ervin secured a place in the 2023-2024 Australian Diamonds squad at the Constellation Cup training camp as an invitee.
This later led to a debut against South Africa in 2025, becoming Diamond 197.
Ervin said she was incredibly grateful to the opportunities the Lightning have been able to provide her through the last four seasons.
“I want to thank Lightning for giving me the incredible opportunity to live out my dream of playing professional netball,” she said.
“I have loved my time at Lightning, I’ve found some of my best friends in the Sunny Coast and will forever be grateful to everyone here.
“While it’s with mixed emotions that I leave the coast, I’m excited for my next challenge.”
Sunshine Coast Lightning head coach Belinda Reynolds said that she wished Ervin well on the next chapter of her netballing journey.
“She has developed so much as a player since joining us in 2023 and has given great service to the club across the last four seasons,” she said
“We are excited to see what the future brings for Ash, and she’s achieved so much in such a short space of time in professional netball.
“As a club, we wish her all the best for her future netball career.”
