Updated eight team National League announced for 2024/25

Netball Scotland’s National League will return for its third season next month with an updated eight team roster and finals format.

Scotland’s premier netball league has announced that one of Glasgow’s strongest sides, Scotstoun Storm, has joined the competition for the 2024/25 season.

Led by Savannah Antoine, Storm will join the league at an exciting time for the sport in Scotland after last month’s news that netball will feature in the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The eight-team 32-game National League returns on Sunday 8 December and sees the introduction of a third place play-off held on Finals Day on Sunday 25 May 2025.

For the second season running, each round of matches will be held at the same venue, allowing fans to spend their Sundays watching some of Scotland’s best players all under one roof.

Welcoming the new season, National Development Manager, David Bordes, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the National League back for another season. Last year saw impressive growth in attendance and interest in the league, and we’re targeting further growth this season.

“The introduction of Scotstoun Storm will further strengthen the league and the introduction of third place play-off will add a new dynamic to the Finals weekend. We’re always looking for ways to improve the competition and these new additions will certainly do that.”

Thistles Head Coach and Performance Director, Kath Tetley, added: “The National League plays a pivotal role in our development pathway allowing Scotland based emerging talent the opportunity to come up against take on seasoned internationals and Thistles’ Squad members such as Emily Nicholl, Rachel Conway to name just a few. This competition is critical to player development and showcasing top Scottish talent.”
