Scotland U21 Squad Named for Netball World Youth Cup

Scotland’s U21 netball team is gearing up for the European qualifiers of the Netball World Youth Cup 2025. These critical matches are set to take place from the 24th to the 29th of September in Cardiff, where Scotland will compete against teams from the UAE, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and Wales. The top three teams will advance to the main event next year in Gibraltar.

Captain Erin Bolland shared her thoughts on the upcoming qualifiers: “We are all incredibly excited and honoured to represent Scotland at the upcoming European qualifiers in Cardiff. We’re training hard and aiming to secure our spot in Gibraltar next year.”

Lead Coach Hayley Mackellar provided insight into her selection and the team’s objectives: “”This squad are a robust group with a combination of skill and strategic understanding, which is crucial for performing under pressure. Our goal for the qualifiers is clear: to secure our spot at the World Youth Cup by playing disciplined, intelligent netball.”

Recent matches against Manchester Thunder’s pathway squad and Wales U21s have provided valuable preparation opportunities, allowing the team to test their skills against high-quality opponents and refine their strategies for the challenges ahead.

As the Scotland U21 team heads to Cardiff for the qualifiers, they carry the strong support of their fans and the aspirations of a nation.
