Ymladd 2030 launched for Wales Netball

Wales Netball members have backed a bold vision for the future.

Wales Netball members have voted in favour of the most ambitious membership fee increase option at the organisation’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), held on 30 July 2025 – a decision that provides the momentum to accelerate delivery of its long-term strategy, Ymladd 2030.

The vote, which followed the first proposed membership fee increase in four years, enables Wales Netball to move forward with plans to invest in a stronger, more inclusive and high-performing netball ecosystem across Wales – from grassroots to elite.

Ymladd 2030 (meaning “to fight” or “to engage”) is Wales Netball’s strategic blueprint for the next five years. It sets out a bold ambition to grow the game, strengthen the performance pathway, and ensure that netball in Wales continues to thrive, inspire and lead.

“Our members have sent a powerful message of belief in the future of our sport,” said Cath Hares, Chair of Wales Netball. “This vote gives us the momentum to drive real change – from community courts to the international stage – and to bring our Ymladd 2030 vision to life.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming AGM, Sheila Cooksley, President of Wales Netball, added:
“Our members have shown their commitment to the future of netball in Wales. I look forward to welcoming them to the AGM on 14th August, where we’ll continue the conversation about how we shape the next chapter of our sport together.”

Wales Netball will now begin implementing the new membership model and will share further details in the coming weeks on how it will support members through the transition.

The new membership fees

The following membership pricing will apply for the 2025/26 season:
• League affiliations: £150
• Club affiliations: £110
• Full adult member fees: £60 (until November 2nd) £65 (from November 3rd)
• Full junior fees (ages 7-18): £34
• Tots fees: £10
• Social and fan member: £30
• Adult monthly: £20 per month
