Greenway and Burgess join Roses A
London Mavericks Tamsin Greenway and Loughborough Lightning’s Vic Burgess will join the new Roses A programme, working alongside Roses Pathway Head Coach Josie Pointon.
The trio bring together a wealth of experience from across the domestic and international game, creating a coaching team packed with knowledge, passion and plenty of netball know-how.
For Burgess, it is another step in an impressive coaching journey.
Since becoming Head Coach of Loughborough Lightning, she has helped guide the club to multiple Netball Super League titles while also building a strong reputation for developing young talent. Her previous work with the England U17 Roses Academy means she is already familiar with helping players take the next step on the pathway.
Greenway arrives with her trademark energy and technical expertise. The London Mavericks Head Coach, former England international and successful Super League coach has long been regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the sport. Her experience working with athletes at international age-group level, including at the Netball World Youth Cup, will be invaluable as the Roses A programme helps players bridge the gap to senior international netball.
Together with Pointon, whose role is to lead and shape England Netball’s pathway programmes, the coaching team will support athletes through a new performance-focused environment designed to prepare them for the demands of senior international competition. It is a serious mission, but with Pointon, Burgess and Greenway sharing ideas courtside, there is every chance the next generation of Roses will learn plenty, smile often and take some big strides towards the top level of the game.
