Tippah Dwan announced as 11th player

Sunshine Coast Lightning have elevated new recruit Tippah Dwan as the club’s Eleventh Player for 2026.

Dwan, who was part of last week’s winning team has earned her elevation coming back from injury.

Dwan is a Queensland junior who came through the Queensland pathways, captaining the U19 squad. Dwan has previously been identified in U17 & U19 Australian pathways as well as competing for Australia in the Fast 5 Netball Series in 2023. It is a big part of the club’s strategy to ensure that Queensland talent remains here on the coast.

Tippah has been part of the 2023 premiership winning Adelaide Thunderbirds team so the experience in which Tippah brings to the squad and club is a valuable asset on and off the court.

Dwan is feeling really grateful for the opportunity to be the 11th player for the club.“After a tough couple of years with injury, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to play netball again,” Dwan said.

“This opportunity means more than I can put into words. I would like to thank Lightning’s High-Performance Manager, Jordan and Lightning Coaches Belinda and Jenny for the time and effort they’ve have put into my rehab. I am proud to be apart of this group and excited for what’s ahead.”

Lightning Head Coach, Belinda Reynolds is extremely proud of the resilience and dedication Tippah has shown to be elevated to the 11th position.“Tippah brings great versatility, experience, skill and smarts to our team. Tippah is also a great culture fit and looks forward to her contribution to our club.” Reynolds said.
