Captain Anstiss: Season Three incoming
West Coast Fever has reappointed Jess Anstiss as Captain for a third season, reinforcing her position as a trusted and inspiring leader at the Club.
A product of the West Australian Pathway, Anstiss first took the reins in 2024 and has continued to set the standard both on and off the court. Her reappointment reflects the immense respect she commands within the Club and her ability to lead with heart, determination, and an unshakeable team-first mentality.
Vice Captain Alice Teague‑Neeld will once again stand alongside Anstiss, while England Roses captain Fran Williams has been elevated into the Fever Leadership Group for the first time, bringing invaluable international experience and a fresh leadership perspective.
Williams steps into the leadership team while Jhaniele Fowler‑Nembhard is on maternity leave and Sunday Aryang recovers from an ACL injury.
Head Coach Dan Ryan said: “Jess has grown so much as a leader over the past two seasons and has the upmost respect and trust from all of us to lead us in our 2026 campaign.
“She’s so passionate about this Club and what we are trying to achieve together and I’m excited to see her take the next step in her leadership journey.”
Ryan applauded Williams’ natural leadership abilities and the impact she has had since arriving at the Club.
“Fran is such a natural leader and since joining Fever, she’s really made an impact in our environment, on and off the court.
“With Jae and Sunday both unable to play this season, Fran is an excellent addition to our leadership team, and I know she’ll have a positive impact in this space for the team.”
