Ellen Withington to join Dragons

The Dragons today (Thursday 05 February) confirm that Ella Bowen has been ruled out of the upcoming NSL 2026 season.

Head Coach Reinga Bloxham said: “We are gutted for Ella as we were all looking forward to working alongside her this season”.

The Dragons are pleased to welcome Ellen Withington to the team (Wing Defence and Centre). Withington, a former training partner for Loughborough Lightning, has been contracted as a permanent replacement for the NSL 2026 campaign, receiving her first full-time contract at Super League level. We look forward to seeing Ellen in action and are excited to have her join the Dragons family.

Speaking about her signing, Ellen said: “I’m beyond excited to be joining Dragons Super League this season. I’m ready to bring my energy, commitment and love for the game as I continue to develop and begin the next chapter of my netball career, alongside such a great group of girls.”

Bloxham added: “We’re thrilled to have Ellen join us heading into the season. With her enthusiasm and hard work ethic, I expect her to integrate seamlessly into the squad. We’re all looking forward to getting started now!”
