Swifts launch new magazine

The NSW Swifts are excited to unveil the Club’s Official 2024 Season Magazine, LEGACY.

Featuring in-depth interviews with each member of the 2024 roster, as well as articles from head coach Briony Akle and features on famous moments in the Swifts’ 28-year history, this is the ultimate companion guide to know more about the people who make up Australian netball’s most decorated Club.

Features include:

  • Helen Housby on how farm life gave her the smarts to sustain a career in professional sport.
  • Samantha Wallace-Joseph on how close she came to quitting the game due to injury setback.
  • Defender and nutritionist Teigan O’Shannassy on her passion to promote healthy, sustainable eating.
  • Player rep Maddy Turner on becoming one of the most important voices in the game.
  • After winning everything the game multiple times, what still motivates Paige Hadley?

Swifts Executive General Manager Kath Tetley said she was delighted to bring the publication to life.

“When our team behind the team was in the process of planning for the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season, we asked a simple question: how can we create something tangible that captures the essence of the Swifts and the people who make this Club great?

“On a recent visit to the United States, I noticed how sports fans across the Pacific love to engage with their favourtie teams via a plethora of media, but nothing ever proves more popular than a collectors-edition magazine which outlines why a Club does what it does best. Thus, the seeds of LEGACY were sewn.

“For 28 seasons and counting the Swifts have been proud pioneers of women in sport and NSW’s most celebrated professional female sports team, and I could not think of a more apt title for this publication.

“Our feedback from fans in 2023 was clear. They wanted us to provide greater insight into our athletes and the people they are away from the court. Along with our social media content, we hope this provides them with some of that insight.”

HOW TO PURCHASE

The 64-page, full-colour publication is priced at just $10 and can be purchased at each Swifts home game starting with Sunday’s clash against the Melbourne Mavericks. Online sales will commence shortly after.
