Isle of Man to host Invitational Island Games

The Isle of Man is to host an inaugural Invitational Island Games Tournament at the National Sports Centre in Douglas from 06th November to 11th November 2023.

A total of 6 teams will be attending, in addition to the hosts, Guernsey, Jersey, Orkney, Shetland, and Ynys Mon have entered.

Isle of Man Netball Development Officer, Claire Battye said, ‘We are really excited about the whole event, alongside the women’s competition we are holding a 2 match series between the Isle of Man Men’s squad and a Guernsey Men’s Netball squad. Additionally as part of the tournament, we are also creating opportunities for the development of umpires, technical officials, coaches and volunteers throughout the whole event from each of the islands’.

Pip Cross, President of Isle of Man Netball commented ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase inter-island netball. We passionately believe that netball should be an integral part of the Island Games, and available for selection by the host countries. We hope that what the islands are putting on in November will be a stepping stone to achieve this.

We are very grateful to the Isle of Man Department of  Enterprise for their support in making this tournament happen. We do however need further sponsors and any Companies that would like to help out please contact our Marketing Team on marketing@netball.im
