BUCS / EMMNA Pilot Event
England Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (EMMNA) in partnership with the BUCS Netball Advisory Group are working on a pilot event for Men’s Netball in the Higher Education sector.
With nearly 20,000 men playing netball fortnightly in mixed leagues, around 20 men’s netball clubs now in existence across the country and 22 boys school teams having entered the EMMNA Youth Cup, there has never been a better time to introduce standalone university men’s netball. We have a fantastic opportunity to actively develop male players across all nations and would love for you to be part of the first step.
This event will go some way to support the potential future inclusion of Men’s Netball to engage with the BUCS Sport Review Implementation Process. To assess current demand, we are proud to announce that the EMMNA University Men’s Netball Cup will take place at Walsall Sports Centre, University of Wolverhampton on 11th November.
The event will be a one-day tournament-style event, open to all BUCS member institutions to enter. We anticipate teams with varying levels of experience, including beginners. There will be an entry fee per team to offset any running costs of the event and we are asking each team to bring their own umpire (C award minimum), or to contact us early on if you need help finding an umpire.
