Geva returns to the Netball Superleague
In the world of netball, few players have reached the heights of success and admiration that Geva Mentor has achieved. With her unparalleled skill, dedication, and passion for the sport, she has earned the title of one of the greatest netball players of all time. Now, following the news that Magpies will no longer compete as part of the new Super Netball season in Australia it has been confirmed that she will be returning to England to play for Leeds Rhinos next season after taking part in her final Netball World Cup that starts in a few days.
Geva Mentor is making a highly anticipated return to the Netball Superleague and is one that is anticipated by fans of the club and Superleague alike!
Geva displayed a natural talent for the sport and quickly rose through the ranks in various local teams and junior leagues. Her determination and commitment were evident even then, as she continuously honed her skills and worked towards her dream of becoming a professional netball player. As Geva Mentor entered her teenage years, her exceptional abilities were noticed by scouts even then where outstanding performances on the court caught the attention of national selectors, leading to her first call-up for the England national team.
Her extraordinary defensive skills and tactical acumen solidified her place in the national England side for many international competition of the years including numerous international competitions, including multiple Netball World Cups and Commonwealth Games.
Geva Mentor made the bold decision to play netball overseas to Australia and up until recently was playing for the Collingwood Magpies – With their unfortunate news that they will no longer be competing as part of next year’s Suncorp Superleague this allowed Geva options to look to play elsewhere. She chose Rhinos and we can’t wait!
