Sasha Glasgow delayed concussion

Sue Gaudion has issued the following statement.

West Coast Fever General Manager Sue Gaudion:

“West Coast Fever wants to clarify the timeline of events relating to an injury and concussion sustained by Goal Attack Sasha Glasgow in last night’s Preliminary Final.

“In the second quarter, Sasha was involved in an incident where she collided with the goalpost.  The neutral doctor at the venue, watched the vision of the incident and deemed it was not necessary to action concussion protocols.

“Our Medical Team treated Sasha for her hip injury during half time while also assessing for any concussion symptoms. She was asymptomatic at half time and throughout the game until the fourth quarter. During the final quarter, we noticed that Sasha developed delayed concussion symptoms and we immediately removed her from the game once they were detected.”

“Post-game the neutral doctor conducted the SCAT5 test which officially diagnosed the concussion.

“The official diagnosis came after Dan Ryan’s post game media conference hence it was not mentioned. Also in the media conference, Dan referred to Sasha’s injury as a groin injury when it was in fact a corked hip injury.”
