Dix focuses on pre-season

Beth Dix has been speaking ahead of her 3rd season at Sirens about building a “collective power” in the new squad

With four new faces in the mix this year, WA Beth says.:

I think we’ve got a perfect balance this year. We’ve kept a core group of the team together and then we’ve added a few new faces too which is exciting.
It allows us to keep that stable structure and bring in new people that have a different style of play which can push the team. “

“New personalities, new energy in the group is great. It’s just about getting to know your team, spending time with them to help build those connections on the court – there are no shortcuts in this – but that is exactly what pre-season is for.”

Emphasizing the importance of the connections on and off the court, Dix adds:
We have stayed connected in the off-season through group chats and meeting up, I went to commonwealth games to see the girls which was amazing.”

Team building helps, we have our team building again in Crieff Hydro this weekend and I am so excited. Last year we did a full-on military assault course after playing two back- to-back pre-season games against Northern Titans and London Giants men’s teams. So, this year we are having a spa day which is perfect.

There will of course be a competitive activity in there – paintballing and archery which will be so great.”

Netball Super League opening weekend will kick start the season 11th February in Nottingham. Tickets are available here.

Sirens will host Loughborough Lightening as their opening home match 20th February at Emirates Arena, Glasgow.
Season tickets are now on sale for all 10 home games – here.
