Thanks Hayley
Scottish Thistles have confirmed that they will not be considering Hayley Mulheronfor Commonwealth Games selection.
Hayley, 35 has represented Scottish Thistles in two previous CWG’s and captained Scotland at the 2015 Netball World Cup.
Head coach, Tamsin Greenway says;
“Sadly, with the ongoing pandemic, 2 years into the Thistles job and Hayley and I have still yet to work together. Hayley’s passion and support for the Thistles in this time has never faltered and we know that losing her from CWG selection is huge in terms of the experience she brings to the squad both on and off the court. We will continue to keep the communication open and will look ahead post the games to future competitions.”
Hayley has been unable to get back to Scotland from Australia where she is based for the last 2 years due to the pandemic. Personal circumstances have made it difficult for Hayley to fulfil the performance criteria required to be available for selection.
Director of Netball at Netball Scotland, Karen Atkinson adds;
“Hayley has been a key member of the Thistles Squad for over a decade and her experience is invaluable. We want to thank Hayley for the commitment, passion and dedication she has shown over this extended period. The door will always remain open and we will continue the dialogue about upcoming Internationals including the World Cup Qualifiers.”
Scotland will play as part of 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this summer.
