Strathclyde Sirens Announces Partnership with Princes Square and the launch of Netball Scotland’s #KindnessRevolution Campaign
On the lead up to the celebrations for this year’s International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March, Strathclyde Sirens has today announced a partnership with Princes Square in Buchanan Street and the launch of Netball Scotland’s new campaign: #KindnessRevolution which aims to encourage kindness in everyday life and across social media.
Far more than just a ‘team in a League’, Strathclyde Sirens are also committed to being champions for change and are at the forefront of leading the gender equality agenda in Scottish sport, having already been recognised by a number of political, media and awards platforms for their positive impact and achievements to date.
Their latest campaign #KindnessRevolution aims to support this – Strathclyde Sirens and Princes Square, are going to drive Kindness2, a campaign which aims to times kindness by kindness. This means taking positive action to multiply the messages of kindness shared across social media platforms and encourage netball fans and the general public to share these messages.
Here’s how we want you to get involved:
Be kinder to yourself – stop self-criticising and learn to love every brilliant bit of you!
Pay people compliments – in person or across social media platforms. It makes their day, as well as yours.
Pledge your action to help forge a gender equal world and celebrate each other’s achievements
Don’t participate in any kind of negative discussions online.
Use the hashtags #BeKind and #KindnessRevolution on your social media posts
There will be message boards set up in Princes Square and the Emirates Arena on Sirens match days where the public can pledge their support for the campaign and share messages of kindness, love and positivity. The Partners will also share the messages – as well as those from players, staff, partners and volunteers – across all of their social media platforms.
Commenting on the partnership, Katie Moody, Princes Square said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce our partnership with Strathclyde Sirens on the lead up to International Women’s Day 2020. They are an inspirational team of young sportswomen who are competing at the very top of their game and representing Scotland in one of the UK’s biggest women’s sports Leagues. We fully support the #KindnessRevolution campaign and we are looking forward to an exciting partnership for the season ahead.”
Commenting on the partnership, Claire Nelson, CEO Netball Scotland said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Princes Square, one of Scotland’s most iconic retail and dining destinations. After an incredible summer of women’s sport which included the Vitality Netball World Cup in Liverpool, netball is on the rise and shows no signs of slowing down. But it can only continue to grow through the support, vision and shared ambitions of brands and businesses like Princes Square. This exciting new partnership will elevate and expose our brand and athletes to a larger target audience, driving greater awareness of netball and our Superleague Club, the Strathclyde Sirens, as well as giving us a hugely powerful platform to continue to deliver our game-changing messages across. We can’t wait to work with Princes Square to see our brand showcased in front of hundreds of thousands of people, and to deliver some fantastic events and campaigns.”
