NS Chair Steps Down

Netball Scotland today announced that it’s Chair of the Board, Caroline Mansley, has stepped down from her role due to personal circumstances. Caroline, who was appointed as Chair in 2017, has been instrumental in leading the transformation of the organisation into a more commercially focussed and operationally robust business. She played a critical role in the launch and delivery of the Strathclyde Sirens, as well as in the creation of the new Strategic Plan 2019-2023, and has empowered the Board and Executive team to achieve significant organisational goals and targets during her tenure, including a top 8 international world ranking.

Of her departure Caroline said: “It is with much regret that I have had to step down from my role as Chair of both Netball Scotland and Scottish Sirens. I would like to thank you all for your support over the past 3 years – holding both these roles has been an honour and something I am delighted to have experienced. I am confident that I leave the business in great shape and in very capable hands, and wish you all the best of success going forward.”

Netball Scotland CEO, Claire Nelson, added: “Under Caroline’s stewardship the sport and organisation has continued to go from strength to strength, and she leaves Netball Scotland in a fantastic place – with an ambitious strategy, a talented team of people and the highest standards of governance. As a business we have never been more capable, and her skills and expertise really drove the necessary development across our people and processes to enable that.

We are sad to lose Caroline at this point but respect and understand her decision and would like to take this opportunity to publicly recognise, and thank her for, her incredible contribution to our sport over the past three years. We all wish her well in the future.’’

Netball Scotland Director Pam Radage has been appointed as interim Chair of the Netball Scotland Board whilst recruitment for a new permanent Chair takes place.

Recruitment for a new Chair of Strathclyde Sirens will commence immediately.
